This policy describes information handled through timberwake.com and email sent to hello@timberwake.com.
When you visit
Timberwake currently provides articles without visitor accounts, checkout, or newsletter signup. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, and—with your permission—Google Analytics 4 and a Google Ads tag as described below.
Our hosting and security providers may process technical information such as your IP address, browser information, requested pages, and request times to deliver and protect the website. Their infrastructure may use cookies or similar technology for operational or security purposes.
Analytics & cookies
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand page views, visits, and website performance. The service sends usage and performance measurements to Cloudflare and provides aggregate reports that help us improve our guides and website. Cloudflare states that Web Analytics does not use cookies or local storage to track visitors and does not fingerprint individuals.
Learn more in Cloudflare’s Web Analytics overview. This analytics service is separate from any operational or security cookies used by our hosting providers. With your permission, we also use the Google Ads tag to support measurement of our advertising. Optional Google tags remain off until you accept. You can accept, reject, or change this choice using Cookie preferences in the footer. We store your choice in your browser for up to six months. Cloudflare’s cookie-free analytics operates separately; you can disable it too using our analytics preferences page. The tag can send Google page URLs, ad-click information, and technical browser information, and can set first-party cookies containing identifiers used for advertising measurement. Installing this tag does not give Timberwake access to your Amazon checkout or purchase details. Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services and review Google’s Privacy Policy.
With your permission, Google Analytics 4 measures page views, engagement, and outbound product-link clicks. Reports help us understand which guides readers use and which links they follow. Google may process cookie identifiers, page and referral URLs, device information, and interaction data. Our custom affiliate-click event includes the article path, product-link destination without its query string, and link label. We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, or contact-form message contents to Analytics. Analytics does not show us Amazon purchases or identify individual buyers. Reject optional tracking or use Cookie preferences to withdraw consent for future Google tracking.
When you contact us
Our contact form collects your email address and message. FormSubmit processes form submissions and forwards them to hello@timberwake.com. See FormSubmit’s privacy policy for its handling of submission data.
We receive your email address, any name supplied with it, and the message or attachments you choose to send. We use this information to respond, address corrections, or discuss the inquiry you raised. Our email provider processes and stores these messages as part of providing the mailbox service. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information that is not needed for your inquiry.
Sharing and retention
We use service providers to operate the website and email. We do not sell your contact messages or use them for targeted advertising. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or necessary to address security incidents or protect legal rights.
We retain correspondence as needed to handle your inquiry and related business or legal needs. Provider logs and backups may follow the provider’s own retention schedules.
External links & affiliate links
Links may take you to websites operated by others, whose privacy policies apply when you visit them. Some articles contain Amazon affiliate links, disclosed in the relevant article. Amazon or another retailer may use its own cookies and tracking technology when you follow an external link.
Your choices
You can exclude this browser from Timberwake analytics. We save only your preference in this browser’s local storage. Repeat on each browser you use. This does not change Amazon’s own reporting.
You can choose what information to send us and manage or block cookies through your browser settings. You can manage Google advertising preferences through My Ad Center. Blocking tracking may limit advertising measurement but does not prevent you from reading our guides. To ask about access, correction, or deletion of correspondence you have provided, email hello@timberwake.com. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request. Applicable rights and exceptions depend on your location and the circumstances.
